About Nomad

Nomad is digital property management software for renting out your North Carolina home yourself. You set the rent and choose the tenant; the platform handles listing syndication, screening, a North Carolina-specific lease, rent collection and maintenance triage, backed by guaranteed rent and $500k in property protection. Track earnings and approve repairs from the owner's portal. Fees start at 4% of the lease, paid once up front.

Renting in North Carolina

North Carolina caps security deposits at 2 months' rent for leases longer than month-to-month, and 1.5 months for month-to-month. Return the deposit within 30 days after move-out. If you can't yet tally the damage, send an interim accounting at 30 days and the final one within 60. A late fee must be in the lease, can be charged only after rent is 5 days late, and is capped at $15 or 5% of a month's rent, whichever is greater. State law sets no notice period before entering. A month-to-month lease ends with 7 days' notice before the end of the monthly rental period.

“I was struggling to find a tenant for over 3 months until I started working with Nomad. They posted the property and secured a tenant in just 2 weeks! Great team and excellent service. I'd definitely recommend Nomad Leasing to any landlord.”
